With plain language, stories, and images, Geoff conveys brain science and practical wisdom to all listeners—a background in science is not necessary. Individuals stuck in addiction learn how they can become unstuck by adopting The Two Pillars of Recovery® (Keep Your Distance! and Ask for Help!) to work with rather than against the laws of nature. Healthcare workers can improve their skills in motivational interviewing and deepen their understanding of social and neurobiological aspects of substance use to become more effective at treating addiction, promoting recovery, and preventing harmful substance use. Community members can become more respectful of themselves and one another, becoming less likely to develop a substance use disorder themselves or contribute to the problems of others.
