With plain language, stories, and images, Geoff conveys practical wisdom and the latest brain science to others whether or not they have a background in science. He shows individuals stuck in addiction how to become unstuck by working with rather than against the laws of nature as he describes the human and scientific background of The Two Pillars of Recovery® (Keep Your Distance! Ask for Help!). He helps community members and healthcare providers remain mindful of social and neurobiological aspects of substance use, substance use disorders, and recovery from addiction so they can become more effective at advancing prevention and treatment. Training in motivational interviewing that Geoff provides clinicians became more detailed, and more frequent, after he became a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers in 2020.
Sample Geoff’s blend of information, inspiration, and humor in videos accessible on this website. He tailors presentations and workshops to participants’ needs. You may contact him by email at contact@geoffkane.com to explore having Geoff present or conduct a workshop at
